Dairy farming was part of Hockinson's working rural landscape. Historic farm records and the surviving Hockinson Creamery photograph connect individual farms to a local dairy economy built around cattle, milk and cream.
For farm households, dairying meant daily labor: feeding and milking cattle, separating or handling cream, maintaining equipment and moving products over rural roads. A local creamery gave producers a place to connect that work to a larger market.
Dairy history also overlaps with the blacksmith shop, general stores, road development and the difficult work of clearing logged land for pasture and farms. Seen together, these records show Hockinson not simply as a settlement but as a working agricultural community.
